Eyeshadow Brush - Better results are achieved with an eyeshadow brush than with most sponge applicators that come packaged with eye color compacts. While a sponge is ok, a brush provides more color control, even distribution, longer wearing eye color, and will reach into very small areas.
Powder Brush – Many face powders are sold with a small applicator or powder
puff, but these applicators usually don't distribute the powder evenly on
the skin and can be quite messy. If you invest in a quality powder
brush, it will last for years. The right powder brush gives you more control over the amount of powder you pickup, apply, place, and blend.
Foundation Brush – An excellent tool for blending and building up light layers of liquid foundation. Many makeup artists use foundation brushes instead of sponges. These densely-packed brushes look like paint brushes a water-colorist artist would use on their canvass. Foundation brushes are one of the most overlooked must have makeup tools.
Eyelash Curler –
This little tool holds the power to make your eyes really pop. The trick
is to briefly heat up the curler with a hair dryer, and then curl the
ends of the lashes for 15 - 20 seconds. When the lashes are curled,
apply a few coats of quality mascara.
Tweezers
Eyebrows are like a frame around a window. They frame our faces and our eyes.
If you've never been
happy with the shape of your brows, contact your hairstylist and ask if
eyebrow shaping is something they can do for you. If this doesn't
sound like a good idea for you, consult beauty books for tips about shaping eyebrows.
By now you may be asking yourself, "Do I really need all these makeup tools"? Think about it this way ... If you need to put a hem in a dress, will duct tape work? Yes - Will thread work better? Yes, and it will look better too.
Pamper yourself, go shopping for your must have makeup tools - you are worth it.
