Lipstick Beauty Tips

How to use a lipstick brush
With a lipstick brush applying lipstick evenly and in the right amount becomes easy.

To use a lipstick brush, first load the brush by sweeping the bristles of the brush across your lipstick a few times, loading the front, and back of the brush.

To apply lipstick: Outline your lips with your brush; fill in the vertical lines on your lips; and then even out the color.

After applying your lipstick, lightly dust your lips with translucent face powder.

Extend the life or your lipstick by storing it in the refrigerator in a sealed container. This tip is especially handy for extra tubes of lipstick that are only worn occassionally.

Sanitize makeup pencils, including lipstick pencils, either by dipping them in alcohol, or by sharpening them.

To make your lips appear fuller, wear lighter shades of lipstick. This tip follows the rule of color. The lighter the color, the larger it looks. The darker the object, the smaller it looks.

Easily and inexpensively coordinate the color of your lips with your blush. First, apply clear lip gloss to your lips. Next, using the tip of your pinky finger, gently wipe blush over the lip gloss.

Apply blush over the lips, followed by lip gloss, for a long-lasting matte finish.

To stop lipstick from transferring from your lips to your teeth, wrap your finger with a tissue, place your finger between your lips, close your lips, and pull your finger out of your mouth. Lipstick that would have otherwise transferred to your teeth is now on the tissue.

The most hygienic way to test lipstick is to test it on the palm side of your finger or hand. The palm side of the hand closely resembles the color and texture of the lips; and you will avoid putting unknown germs on your mouth.

To stop lipstick from bleeding into the fine lines surrounding the lips, first line your lips with a lip pencil that closely matches the color of your lipstick; then apply your lipstick with a lipstick brush. Less lipstick is required when a lipstick brush is used.
