Lip Care

Moist lips

The thinnest skin on your body is on your lips. In fact, it is so thin that the blood vessels under the skin give them their rosie color.

An easy way to protect your lips from sun damage 365 days a year is to wear lip balm, gloss, and/or moisturizers with sunscreen.

For softer lips, use a gentle lip exfoliator or lip mask two or three times a week. Exfoliating removes dead skin cells that cause the lips to look and feel rough.

Minimize the use of lip liners, especially if your lips are dry. Lip liners draw moisture from the skin.

Many women believe that licking the lips moistens them. Actually, it does the opposite. The tongue transfers acidic digestive juices causing the lips to dry out quicker. It's better to use beeswax based lip balms to moisturize the lips instead.

Avoid flavored lip balms, lipsticks, and creams if you are a lip-licker; they only enhance the problem.
