How to Cover Up a Bruised Eye with Makeup
Have you ever been involved in an accident and woke the next morning to find yourself with a black and blue eye? It may not look as bad as our photo above, but, a black and blue eye can look very bad.
If it happens again, try this trick I taught myself... Just for the record, my ugly swollen black eye was caused when I tripped over my own feet and hit the side of my head while on vacation! I had to do something quick to conceal it and came up with this combination that worked very well for me.
-
Apply a good amount of concealer to the discolored areas.
-
Follow concealer with dry mineral powder foundation.
- Use navy blue eyeshadow on the eyelid to match the color of your bruise.
- Use cream colored eyeshadow under the brow.
-
Do not use eyeliner - it makes the eye look worse when swollen.
- Apply four coats of mascara to draw attention more to the lashes and not the lid.
Stay away from frosted and shimmery eyeshadows which naturally attract attention to the eyes. Instead, choose a matte or satin eyeshadow finish.
Remember to always work very gently around the wounded eye.
