Bismuth, Clay Face Masks for Sensitive Skin
To soften your skin
For a sensitive skin face mask that is inexpensive and gentle, try bismuth that is commonly used to soothe an upset stomach. One popular brand of bismuth is Pepto Bismol.
- Apply bismuth to a clean face, neck, and chest. Avoid areas of the eyes and lips.
- Allow bismuth to dry about ten minutes. Do not rub your face.
- Rinse face well with lukewarm water, and then pat away the excess water.
- Apply your favorite sensitive skin moisturizer.
For Dry Sensitive Skin
Remove Dead Skin Cells with Bismuth
(Remember before, we said "don't rub your face with the pink stuff? Now you can!)
-
Apply bismuth to a clean face, neck, and chest.
-
Immediately move your hand in a circular pattern over your skin using your ring and pinky fingers. Gently rubbing the skin with bismuth helps loosen and lift dead skin cells and grime that rest on the surface.
-
With a gentle face cleanser, wash and rinse all traces of bismuth from the skin.
-
Pat excess water off the skin.
-
Apply sensitive skin moisturizer, or if your face is oily, use an oil-free moisturizer.
Helpful Tip: Be careful not to get bismuth on clothing; it can leave a stain that is almost impossible to remove.
