To accentuate the cheek bones, sweep a small amount of highlighter along the outside corner of the cheekbone just below the eye (think of where the sun would first hit). Don't apply too much highlighter or it will look unnatural - a very little amount will do the trick.
For a bright and fresh look, place a tiny dot of highlighter on the center of the cheek apple and blend the edges outwards.
For warm skin tones, choose highlighters with gold undertones.
For cool skin tones, choose highlighters with silver undertones.
If you are fortunate, you have a makeup compact with two or more blush colors. Use the lighter blush to highlight your cheeks; the darker blush for color.
If you confused about where to put highlights on your cheeks, you are not alone!
There are several methods used to help determine where to put highlight colors on the cheekbone - one of them is the index finger method that follows:
Lay the uppermost top line of the finger next to the end of the eye with your fingertip pointing inward toward the bridge of the nose.
Move the finger down to the upper part of your cheekbone just below the eye.
Where your finger rests is where you highlight.
Do not highlight all the way across the bone, only highlight where the finger rest and only use a small amount of highlighter when brushing over this area.
Think of where the sun would hit and use a very light stroke.
